My name is Jana and I specialise in unobtrusive and reportage style photography mixed with classic and contemporary portraiture.
I have been based in London for over twelve years and my passion for photography started when I was in my teenage years, visiting exhibitions of local or national photographers what was, at that time, in Czechoslovakia. Karol Kallay is one of the photographers with whom I grew up and there are many more from whom I have an influence.
I am passionate about all aspects of photography, but working closely with people who let me observe them, and capture the precious time with their loved ones, their children or family members and close friends, is very satisfying and rewarding. It makes me feel fulfilled when I receive nice feedback and appreciation from catching those special moments and enabling so many memories to be documented and remembered in a permanent way.
I specialise in creating natural photos for those people who do not feel so comfortable in front of the camera because I fully understand and empathise with this situation.
I especially like helping to make my clients feel relaxed and comfortable so that they appear natural in the photographs. I appreciate that having your photo taken sometimes can feel unnatural and may cause some people to feel anxious. It is my job to make you feel at ease.
Please feel free to send me a message or arrange a time to chat informally.
In addition to a lifelong passion for photography, I have participated in a number of photography courses at The UK's premier Art College, Central Saint Martin's, London where I was fortunate enough to take courses with and be inspired by some well known, respected and incredibly gifted photographers who have helped me to develop my style and learn new techniques.
